Brian Hoyer jersey sales exceed Johnny Manziel's

From the department of “should have happened six weeks ago,” Brian Hoyer jerseys have finally started outselling Johnny Manziel jerseys nationwide.

This raises the important question: Who’s still buying Johnny Manziel jerseys? I can see why people bought them from May through August, when the rookie was a celebrated draft pick still in contention to become Browns’ starter. I can see why people will buy them in the future, when the celebrated quarterback eventually gets a chance to play in the league. But right now? Once it became clear Manziel was going to ride the bench to start the season, then became figuratively glued to that seat after Hoyer’s hot start put the Browns in playoff contention, who’s still shelling out money for Johnny Football gear?

Six Ways to Find a Cheap NFL Jersey

With NFL season soon upon us, many a fan is looking for a way to create the most special day imaginable…without racking up the biggest debt imaginable. The jersey is no exception.

NFL jerseys are one area where you can significantly cut your costs. We don't believe in compromising on looking absolutely stunning on the nfl day, but we do believe in being smart about looking for the best deal possible.

How to Save Money on Your NFL Jersey.

1. Stick to a Budget
If you write down your jersey budget on paper, you are more likely to stick to your budget. You can buy cheap nfl jerseys (estimate about $100)

2. Borrow a Jersey
Do you know someone who is about your same size? Would they be willing to let you borrow their jersey?

3. Buy a Used NFL Jersey
You can get some great deals by buying a used nfl jersey. Sometimes “used” nfl jerseys are not really used but simply “pre-owed” if a nfl fan had purchased more than one jersey. check out sportsmemorabilia.com to find yourself a good deal.

4. Rent a Jersey
When there is something that you need for a short duration of time, you don’t buy it, you rent it. For example, on moving day, you rent a moving truck instead of buying one. The same argument can be used for a nfl jersey. It’s expensive and will only be used for one day.

5. Shop Online
By shopping online you are going to greatly increase your options. You are much more likely to find the style of jersey you like at the price the fits your budget. One word of caution: make sure there is a return policy just in case the nfl jersey is not as impressive in person.

6. Look at Outlet Stores
Just as you would shop at the outlet mall for all your other needs, check out an outlet nfl store for the nfl jersey. So what if it is last season’s jersey; no one will know the difference if it looks stunning on you!

7. Shop Later
Many nfl stores offer sales during nfl off-season, which is in the fall. Shopping during the off-season is one of the best ways to save big bucks on the nfl jerseys..

Collectible Andrew Wiggins Cavaliers Jersey

When Andrew Wiggins was taken by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA draft, you can bet fans rushed out to buy the jersey of the team’s newest star. Wiggins is a young, exciting player that any Cleveland fan could root for, so purchasing his apparel seemed like a safe thing to do. That was before Cleveland and the Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly agreed in principle on a deal that would send Kevin Love to the Cavaliers in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a protected 2015 first-round pick. But fear not, Cavs fans. It looks like you can get a full refund on those Wiggins jerseys (minus shipping, of course) and use that money for a shiny new Love uniform.

The standard return policy with the NBA store is normally 60 days, and the item has to be in its original condition with the tags still attached. However, customers who actually bought the custom Wiggins jerseys will be able to return it without tags, Darren Rovell said. The NBA hasn’t issued any information regarding refunds on Anthony Bennett uniforms. Bennett, the 2013 first overall pick, is heading to Minnesota in the trade along with Wiggins. Our guess is the Bennett jerseys won’t be refunded, seeing as they weren’t after his less-than-stellar rookie campaign.

$100,000, Manziel-Worn Jersey

A California-based sports memorabilia company thinks Johnny Manziel's 2012 Texas A&M football jersey could be worth at least $100,000.

SCP Auctions said it has verified that the maroon home jersey is the one worn by Manziel when he became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy.

“This is his only game-used jersey from his college career that has come to market,” said SCP vice president Dan Imler, would not identify the jersey's owner.

The company said the shirt was offered on eBay in May for $300,000.

The jersey, which is being displayed this week at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, will be auctioned online Aug. 6-23.

The highest price paid for a used college football jersey is believed to be $27,000 for one worn by former Notre Dame great Paul Hornung, Imler said.

Hot Collectible Aaron Hernandez Jersey

Owners of Aaron Hernandez football jerseys have taken to eBay to rid themselves of his jersey -- and make a hefty profit.

Official Hernandez jerseys, which went for $100 online, are now selling for a premium, and bids are reaching twice the original value.

Hernandez was an NFL player for the New England Patriots until last week, when police charged him with first-degree murder. Prosecutors say he had a falling out with a friend at a night club in mid-June, then orchestrated his execution-style killing two days later.

The NFL has stopped selling his No. 81 jersey. The Patriots are offering fans a chance to exchange Hernandez jerseys for any player's on the team.

But that is only for in-person trades at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. As a result, some are heading to eBay.

Upon hearing about Hernandez's arrest on Wednesday, Ben Kent in Virginia Beach decided he couldn't keep the jersey around the house. It would set the wrong example for his two kids. So, he put his used red jersey up for auction.

"I figured I'd try to dump it. Where can I wear this thing now? I'd receive a lot of backlash," he told CNNMoney.

Kent started the bid at $50 and didn't even expect it to sell at that price. But by Monday morning, the item had received more than 2,000 views, and 37 bids had pushed the price up to $227.50. The bidding is due to end at 5:08 pm ET.

Kent thinks the bids are likely coming from collectors -- or those willing to wear the shirt as part of an insensitive joke.

Kent said anyone wearing a No. 81 would be showing support for Hernandez, accused of playing a key role in the killing of his fiancée's sister's boyfriend, semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

"It might sent the wrong message," Kent said.

That isn't holding back buyers on eBay, though. Bids have pushed up the price of official jerseys made by Nike, originally $100, to $130 and beyond. Autographed jerseys are selling for even more.

Topping the list: a $4,000 unsigned white Hernandez jersey posted Monday morning at 7 a.m. after the Boston Globe broke the news of inflated eBay sale prices. That one doesn't have any bidders yet, though.

Michael Sam get jersey numbers 96

The St. Louis Rams made the announcement at a Tuesday afternoon news conference, when the Rams also held media access to the 11 players they took in last week's draft.
On Monday, the NFL released sales figures of its best-selling rookie jerseys over draft weekend, and those of Sam -- the first openly gay player to be selected -- sold better than any other jersey except those of Johnny Manziel.
Sam came out as gay in media interviews earlier this year. His Missouri teammates and coaches knew his secret and kept it for his final college season. Sam went on to have the best year of his career: He had 11.5 sacks and was selected SEC co-defensive player of the year.
The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Sam was considered a mid- to late-round pick, far from a sure thing to be drafted. He played defensive end at Missouri, but he's short for that position in the NFL and slower than most outside linebackers, the position he'll need to transition to at the professional level. He was taken with the 249th overall pick out of 256.
